Along with millions of other people all over the world, we were shocked by the events that took place in the US at the end of May 2020. It’s hard to accept that as a society, we still allow such injustice to happen and that we still have to fight against racism and senseless violence.
When we started exploring what we could do to support the cause, it became very clear to us that it should not be about statements that we can make. It should be about actions that we can take. It is about social responsibility we have, to our employees, customers, and communities.
As we stand in solidarity with our black colleagues, clients, and friends in the US, we need to acknowledge that racism for all people of color is a global problem, and injustice has no borders. So our response should be global as well.
In our response, we want to empower our employees to take action. To accomplish this, we will set up a donation matching program. Within this program, SEMrush employees will be able to choose charitable organizations that they would like to support, and we will match their donation.
